Stonewall Jackson died in an outbuilding on the Chandler Plantation at Guinea Station on May 10, 1863.

The building was restored to its war-time appearance in the 1960's.

In 1903 James Smith, a member of Jackson's staff present when Jackson died, placed this monument to his fallen chief.
