McLean House

After negotiating for locations for the surrender the McLean house was selected.

Ironically the McLean's had moved from Manassas to escape the war.

Nearly four years later, General Lee surrendered to General Grant in McLean's parlor.

When Lee was informed that Gordon's troops had broken ranks he ordered truce flags flow at about 11am on the 9th.

The surrender documents were signed at this table.
